Food Technologist, Koch Foods / Poultry
Fairfield, Ohio and
Chicago
As a food technologist with Koch, a foodservice and restaurant
poultry product supplier, I oversee the Chicago R &D facility
and accounts, which includes raw marinated chicken fillets and
specialty items like chicken cordon bleu and stuffed Cornish
hens. I live and work in the Cincinnati area where we develop new
products for restaurant chains.
After a great internship with Bob Evans, I decided to convert
from Animal Science to Food Science. The greatest benefit of my Food Science
degree was it prepared me for my current position by
providing me with problem-solving skills.
Advice for those considering a food science degree: Internships
are the greatest college experience. They often pay and give you
a real taste of a career as a food scientist.
